Most people today work so much they actually feel guilty when spending leisure time away from work or home. I'm sure there's a word for this. Some kind of 20 letter psychological word to describe the guilt everyone feels when taking leisure time off. Most of us need to set leisure goals if we're to ever have any kind of fun.
The stress and pressure of everyday life can sometimes throw us off balance. Setting leisure goals helps maintain balance in our lives. It helps us get back on track. The best way to do this is to make a list of the things' you want to do. Break this list down by season. List all the things you enjoy during the summer. Then pick the best days during the summer months in which these activities can be done. Schedule these activities just as you would schedule a doctor's appointment or business meeting. Do this for each of the four seasons and there will be something to look foreword to throughout the year.
When we were children we had scheduled leisure goals all the time. The difference between then and now is someone scheduled our leisure goals for us back then. We would go to class and then have a scheduled recess. We would go to school all week and then have scheduled playtime on the weekends.
We can have fun just like we did when we were children only now we have the schedule that leisure time and set those leisure goals ourselves.
