Goal Scale

At time we find that it is harder and harder to complete our goals successfully. A lot of us have New Year's Resolutions that, to be perfectly frank; ended before they began. What we need to look at is, why we have goals, and why is it so important to keep setting new goals every day. When Goal Scale was created, it dissected goals and methods used by those who were already successful and brought them together. We found that there is a huge correlation between the types of goals and successes. We found that a lot of people had set goals with an unbalanced compensation.

For example, someone setting a goal to lose ten pounds, and as a reward, they can buy a house. Because these goals really don't correlate with each other, the chance of this goal actually working out is very slim. This person might think, 'it doesn't matter about the weight, I don't have the money for that reward.' Already they have placed barriers in their path that are extremely hard to overcome.

Think of this scenario again. What if the compensation would have been something like, lose ten pounds and buy a new bathing suit for the summer. Now there is some real motivation behind it. Not only are you looking at the actual reward, but your mind will wonder onto other rewards that come packaged as well: good health, more energy, and great body.

We find that as we learn more about the things that we like the more successful we are. (Seems funny to say, learn more about ourselves). We need to find out what motivates us and what gets us going.

Goal Scale has been separated into many different styles or versions of goals. Goal 101 was created to help you understand the anatomy of goals. Find out the different structures of basic goal setting. Finally, it is here to help us get closer to the overall goal, which is, find true happiness through our accomplishments. Learn more about the various goal types: Achievement Goals, Action Goals, Limit Goals, Rate Goals, Constrictive Goals, Stacked Goals and my favorite Aggressive Goals.
