About Goal Scale

Goal Scale started in 2007, as a way for me to complete my educational goals for school. I had just failed one of my core programming courses at the university and I was determined not to let that hinder my goal of graduating college. Day after day, it became harder for me to focus on that goal. There were so many outside factors that I couldn't control.

As the next semester was rolling along, I found myself following the same patterns that I had the first (un-successful) time around. I was so frustrated with myself. I would complain and complain to my wife, telling her that there were too many things to do and not enough time to do it in. (She was extremely supportive.)

My wife and I decided: enough was enough. We bought a giant white-board and a few markers and began to create what is now today known as "Goal Scale". We created a system to motivate each other based on peer pressure, incentives and most of all team work. I found that even though I couldn't control everything around me, that didn't mean someone else couldn't help me along. I found that as we challenged each other to do everything from: cleaning the house to losing 5 pounds, we could accomplish our goals quicker and more efficiently. I found the tools I needed to succeed in school and start motivating others along the way.

Goal Scale started as a three-ring binder system and converted to an online tool once we were introduced to the power of the internet. We saw a large potential to touch a lot of people's lives. We started small with just a landing page for people to find and get excited about helping others achieve their goals. As it grew, the site began to transform into what it is today. As new people are joining the Goal Scale Community every day we have been very impressed with our success. We hope to one day reach millions of people worldwide.
